WELL, WHO IS EDEN ANYWAY?
Eden Ballantyne is a film director and producer professionally based between New York City, U.S.A. and Sydney, Australia. She is currently a third year student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, pursuing a BFA in Film & TV Production and a minor in Linguistics.
Filmmaking has been a big part of her life ever since she was little. Her career started on her 8th birthday when she was gifted a blue Lumix digital camera; and, well, ~~ she took a sabbatical because she left it behind on the train to France a couple days later. But good news, this setback didn’t stop her for long.
She is interested in developing works that encapsulate rich flavours of nostalgia and the childhood experience from complex moral viewpoints. As a filmmaker and practicing Christian, Eden enjoys stories that explore faith and existence in profound ways which could be meaningful to people of any background. Her linguistics studies have marinaded many curiosities about how the mind works in different languages, sending her on a quest to see if she can use film as her tool to unearth some common ground of what the human experience really encompasses.
Maybe you don’t want to talk about film. Thankfully Eden is also an avid herbal tea drinker, to which she’ll happily tell you about her current favorite infusion instead.
